I have never had a microscope of this caliber before so its been a new experience for me. Ive only ever had hobby microscopes and used the nicer ones at school. So far I’m so pleased and impressed with this part of equipment which i bought to aid in my kids home school biology lessons. The microscope is a pleasure to use. Never having to take your eyes off the subject while you keep it in view with the smooth mechanical stage is just awesome. The lens optics seem good though this is probablythe best i have used so I’m sure they get better, however the clearness is quite stunning. The camera is okay, good for capturing videos and snapshots of the neater subjects youmay find. But its not as good as looking down the lenses I believe. Good product.



This is a 1st class microscope. Excellent value for the money. Excellent resolution, well-collimated. You have to know how to setup a microscope (it is not terribly hard to do. Videos on youtube may help. I have used microscopes costing many times this price which were no better. It looks they have other ‘scopes with other potential.

The AmScope T420A-DK professional compound trinocular microscope interchangeable pairs of 10x widefield and 16x plan widefield eyepieces, a forward-facing nosepiece with four DIN achromatic goals, Brightfield/Darkfield (BF/DF) halogen illumination, and a double-level mechanical stage. The trinocular head has a sliding binocular mount with an adjustable 55 to 75mm interpupillary distance, a fixed 30-degree vertical tendency to decrease eye and neck strain, and a 360-degree rotation capability to offer a more complete view and enable sharing. Dioptric modification accommodates individual eye-strength differences. The vertical trinocular port accepts a camera with a 23mm or C-Mount adapter (camera sold individually). The forward-facing nosepiece has 4x, 10x, 40xS (spring), and 100xS (spring, oil) DIN achromatic goals that add with the eyepieces to offer color correction of magnified pictures at eight magnifications. The 40xS objective is spring loaded to prevent slide damage when concentrating. The 100xS spring-loaded oil-immersion objective uses oil between the specimen and the objective lens to offer increased resolution over a regular objective. A compound microscope can be used for inspection and dissection of specimens when two-dimensional pictures are wanted. The microscope has lower (transmitted, diascopic) Brightfield/Darkfield (BF/DF) illumination that transmits light up through the specimen for improved visibility of translucent and transparent objects. Brightfield (BF) illumination lets the specimen to take in light, ensuing in a black image on a light background, and Darkfield (DF) illumination reflects light off the specimen, ensuing in a light image on a black background. Halogen illumination gives bright light in a concentrated path. The 1. 25 NA Abbe condenser is mounted on a rack-and-pinion control system, may be adjusted to control the distance of the light from the stage, and has an iris diaphragm to optimize the amount of light illuminating the specimen. The double-level mechanical stage, with 1mm stage divisions, locks the slide into place and gives exact slide manipulation along the X- and Y-axis to let coordinates to be recorded, enabling the viewer to return to a particular place on the slide. The stage is 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches (140 x 140mm) and has a traveling range of 3 x 2 inches (75 x 50mm). Graduated coaxial coarse and good concentrate enables measurements to be taken.
