The monocular looking at head has a fixed tendency to decrease eye and neck strain, and 360-degree rotation capability to enable sharing. An eyepiece pointer can be used to recognize features for students. A reverse-mounted nosepiece keeps goals out of the way to prevent damage and contagion, and to enable more secure slide handling. ASC (achromatic super contrast) high-contrast goals supply sharp color differentiation. Parcentered and parfocal goals ensure that the image stays focused and focused when the magnification is changed. The 40xR and 100xR goals are retractable and spring loaded to prevent damage to the slide or objective when concentrating. The 100xR objective is an oil objective that gives increased resolution over a regular objective.
